NHL Street at the Barn

We are excited to announce that in partnership with Athlete Prep and RCX Sports, Barnburner will host Toronto's first NHL Street Ball Hockey League, offering an affordable and inclusive opportunity for players ages 7 - 10 to re-imagine ball hockey. This co-ed league is designed to bring high-energy fun to young hockey players, with fast-paced 3v3 games plus a goalie played indoors on our shooting lanes.  Grab some friends and sign up today before spots disappear!

Q: What is NHL Street? 

NHL Street is the official street hockey league of the NHL and the premier youth ball hockey experience in North America.  NHL Street is designed to provide kids and their families the best of what youth sports can be: having fun, staying active, making friends, and creating great memories.  When you join NHL Street, you can expect a fast-paced game that teaches teamwork, creativity, and resilience.  Created with parents in mind, we’re ensuring the pressure, schedules, and costs typically associated with hockey (and other youth sports) are kept in check. Q: Who can join NHL Street at the Barn? 

A: Players ages 7-10 and no previous hockey experience is required. Players of all genders and skill levels welcome! 

Q: What is the time commitment?

A: The total time commitment is approximately 1.5 hours per week. Each week starts with 25 minutes in a gym warmup or skills practice session, followed by a game consisting of two 20 minute halves. The league will run from October 20 until December 15. 

Q: What equipment does my child need?

A: All participants receive a reversible uniform as part of their registration. We provide balls and goalie equipment.  Players will require helmets, stick and gloves.  Shin-pads, mouthguards, and sweatbands are optional. We recommend a helmet with a face shield/visor. Skates, elbow and shoulder pads, ice hockey pants, and ice hockey goalie equipment are not permitted.
