Director of Hockey Operations - Rob Gherson
Rob Gherson is a former professional hockey goaltender and an accomplished coach with over 15 years of experience developing young players. A 2002 NHL Draft pick of the Washington Capitals, Gherson played four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Sarnia Sting and Owen Sound Attack before moving on to a successful professional career.
In 2008, he won the Calder Cup as a member of the Chicago Wolves in the American Hockey League (AHL), a highlight of his pro career that also included time in the ECHL and AHL.
Following his playing days, Gherson transitioned into coaching. From 2017 to 2023, he served as the Assistant Coach and Director of Goaltending for the North York Rangers and then with the Toronto Patriots during the 2022-23 Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) season. Beyond junior hockey, he has coached at every level and age group in the Greater Toronto Hockey League over the past 15 years, helping shape the next generation of goaltenders and players.
Rob also worked at Blyth Academy Downsview Park from 2017-2024.
With a wealth of playing and coaching experience, Gherson continues to have a significant impact on the hockey community, mentoring athletes and guiding them to reach their full potential. We are excited to have him leading us as our Director of Hockey Operations!
